BARRY BLUMENFELD (Artistic Director), a native of Miami, Florida, was a 2000 recipient of a Choreographers Fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts. Mr. Blumenfeld founded the company in 1997, and has since choreographed over a dozen works for TAPFUSION that have been presented in NY, Florida, Maryland and Washington, DC. He has also performed in the work of Sean Curran and Peter DiMuro, and is a member of the sketch-comedy group, STOMA. He holds an MA in Dance from American University and was recently inducted into the university's Department of Performing Arts Hall of Fame. Currently he is a dance educator on the faculty of Friends Seminary School in Manhattan.
ROBIN LEVINE has a BFA in Modern Dance and Composition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since graduation she has been seen performing in tours and regional productions of Chicago, 42nd Street, Cabaret, Pippin, Mame, Anything Goes, and Will Rogers Follies to name a few. She has also been seen in many Off and Off-Off Broadway productions in New York City.
COURTNEY POULOS graduated in 2000 from East Carolina University with a BFA in Dance with a concentration in modern. While there, her own blending of modern and tap choreography was featured in the American College Dance Festival's Southeast Regional Gala Concert. Her work was also the first ever student piece selected for the East Carolina Dance Theatre Concert.She has studied with Sean Curran, Mark Dendy, Buster Brown, and Claudio Figaria. Originally from Smithsburg, MD, she has taught dance throughout Connecticut, Maryland and North Carolina.
JEANNE SCHICKLER is a graduate of William Smith College and received her MFA in dance from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 1999. Since graduating, she's been a member of Gina Gibney Dance, co-founder and choreographer for Choreographer's Ink, and is currently performing with Ivy Baldwin Dance. In addition, her own work has been presented at Joyce SoHo, The Cunningham Studio, DanceSpace Project at St. Mark's Church and The Frederick Loewe Theatre. Jeanne is also a certified Pilates instructor
JENNIFER UZZI is a native New Jerseyan, born and bred in the Garden State. She began her training at the School of American Ballet in New York, received her B.A. in Dance and Theater from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Virginia, and her MFA in Dance at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 1999. She dances with Ivy Baldwin Dance and Umoja Dance Company as well as TAPFUSION. Jennifer has also had the pleasure of working with Nicole Berger, Sue Bernhard, Alexander Gish, Sarah Hook, and Jeanne Schickler.
KATY WOITEL is originally from Illinois and a 1995 graduate of the Alabama School of Fine Arts. While in Alabama she toured and performed with the State of Alabama Ballet, performing lead roles in Swan Lake, the Nutcracker, and Aladdin. She moved to New York in 1996, and in 1999 received her B.F.A. in Dance from NYU's University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she performed works by Doug Varone, Douglas Becker, and fellow students. Katy is also a member of Dixie Fun Dance Theater, Ivy Baldwin Dance, and Rileydance.
